The RaQ 3i offers a full suite of Internet services with remote administration capabilities, prepackaged in a single rack-unit height. The RaQ 3i expands Cobalt's RaQ server appliance product line by providing a larger, more powerful and broader availability of partner applications.

What solutions can an ISP deploy with a RaQ 3i?
Dedicated web hosting is the most popular solution that an ISP would offer with RaQ 3i. The RaQ 3i also expands the solutions to include e-commerce hosting, application hosting or even shared hosting.

RaQ 3i is currently available in one configuration - single CPU, 20 GB hard disk, 512 MB RAM, dual NICs, and a SCSI controller. All the existing RaQ 2 configurations are also available.

Would it be cheaper to build my own box?
No. You will find that the price to build your own box is very comparable to Cobalt RaQ servers. Also, the RaQ 3i comes pre-configured with all the Internet service software wrapped in a very easy to use browser based interface that takes the hassles out of adding and configuring the software. Yes, this can be done very easily by either adding a hard disk(s) internally or attaching an external storage device to the SCSI port. Then just click the "Add Storage" button from the RaQ 3I user interface and the additional storage will seamlessly integrate into the RaQ 3i.
